Michael Pittelkow

CHEM Talks

Department of Chemistry has initiated a new series of scientific seminars presenting chemical research at the department. The seminars will always be held Fridays 12:15 – 12:45, the language will be English and introducing the scientific field of one of our researchers.

Associate Professor Michael Pittelkow will give the second “CHEM Talks" Friday 26/2-2021 at 12:15 – 12:45

All interested are welcome to join the seminar.

“Curved aromatic molecules and anti-aromatic molecules"

Weird magnetic properties, helical chirality and abnormal reactivity due to close proximity. In this presentation, I will describe the synthesis and properties of a range of aromatic-, anti-aromatic- and helical aromatic molecules. I will discuss some of the unusual properties (and some of the very trivial and unsurprising properties) of these large well-defined conjugated molecules.
